What is this for?

The Victorian Governments Canteens, Healthy Eating and Other Food Services Policy use a traffic light system to classify foods and drinks as EVERYDAY, SELECT CAREFULLY, OCCASIONALLY and never to be supplied.

This policy covers Victorian government schools including primary, secondary, special and language schools to support a healthy eating culture by developing healthy school food services and promoting healthy eating principles.

The Healthy Eating Advisory Service supports Victorian organisations.

We can also work with food businesses outside of Victoria to supply healthier foods and drinks in Victorian schools, and retail food outlets and vending.
The Healthy Eating Advisory Service supports Victorian organisations to enable healthy eating in:
- long day care
- outside school hours care
- schools
- health services
- sport and recreation centres
- universities
- workplaces
