Overview
A menu assessment with the Healthy Eating Advisory Service was just the beginning of ensuring that Bloom Early Learning met the nutritional needs of children. Involving all the eductors and staff in healthy eating provided positive role models for the children who are now enjoying simple changes such as the addition of more vegetables to their menu.

[Aisha Bal, Area Manager, Bloom Early Learning Centre] We ensure all educators are involved in promoting healthy eating through our food and nutrition policy.
We previously did lots of cakes and sweet treats and things, but now with the review of our menu, we started to do lots of different things that are healthy options for the children.
The benefits of having our menu assessed are that it links to different programs such as the Smiles for Miles program, which we now been assessed for as well, and the Achievement program, which we’re working towards.
